Statement of Purpose:

Since Albacore Records has had so many diverse releases over the years (from printings of one to a couple hundred), I am paring down what will be offered here, trying to qualify what constituted an official album. I determined that the various things which constitute a still viable release were that the album was copied several times and packaged in some presented and artistic form, i.e. had cover art, or an accompanying style.

Some projects involved a lot of time and effort but never achieved such a product, and although talks of making albums, tapes, and records occurred or were imagined, there was not a significant enough audience for them (this explains why the Conflict Hymens, Sug Knight, Criticism, and Tiny Doctors releases are essentially the best demos of every song those bands wrote, or planned albums never released 'til now).

Simply put, these releases form both the chronology of my still evolving musical development and my autobiography of the past 8 years (from age 15 in 2001 to age 23 in 2009). As such, in the Album Descriptions I have noted both the year released, and my age and general life situation. Their appeal and listening longevity is varying, I feel that all of it has merit. For the first time also, for the purpose of organization, catalog numbers will be given to each release as well. Most of these releases no longer have physical forms, except where noted.

There are some oversights, such as Bloody Jellies (a band with so much recorded output it would be difficult to wade through at present, and which eventually in its best form became Sug Knight. The BJ's are notable however for developing the unique double lo-fi mic/stereo production method applied on the Klacto album "Everyday..." ), and Yacob HC (solo hardcore songs, an EP of five songs around the time of Conflict Hymens, to be released when the tape becomes un-mislaid). These will be released and cataloged possibly unchronologically and possibly as half numerals, which mainly signify live recordings or companion pieces.

Bare with me as this site develops, and more albums are made available for download. Hopefully soon the entire catalog will be available online. My main goal is to make it as accessible and information rich as possible.
